ok boys and girls, here's the deal:

dpp, thanks to our sponsor ickhoy and caltex, has been granted exclusive rights to sell the media passes for the hot air balloon festival. this means, all media passes will be claimed starting monday here in digital photographer philippines headquarters. each media pass will grant you A FULL DAY ACCESS to shoot the hot air balloon during take off, landing and preparation. if you don't have the media pass, you won't be allowed to shoot within the grounds where all the action is.

each full day media pass will cost you PHP 150.00 (last year it was around 350-500). and each day, only 100 photographers are allowed to shoot within the grounds. that means a maximum of 400 photographers can shoot the grounds in all four days of the event.

unlike previous organizations who've handled the contest and media passes, dpp and caltex is not making a single cent out of this event. the PHP 150.00 fee is the entrance fee and ID cost which will be immediately turned over to the organizers. we are simply doing this for the fun of shooting with our fellow photographers.

the media passes are not transferable. this means, you can't share the pass with anyone else, nor can you use it for another date. so make sure that you are committed to go to a specific date/s that you plan to go. we will be a maintaining a master list to avoid any access problems.

starting monday, to redeem the media passes, all you have to do is:
1. head to DPP headquarters or the DPP booth in photoworld
2. pay the 150.00 payment for the IDs
3. donate a can of beer/cola for us (only if you can, LOL)

that's it!

also, there's a contest on site. ickhoy will announce the prizes, we will be announcing in the next few days the mechanics of the contest. digiprint will be there, thanks to our very own miguel vecin, to provide for the printing of the entries. daily winners will be announced, so will be the grand prize winners.

4am, january 1 2009.

2008 was a good year for me, though it had both ups and downs. it was a very meaningful and i did learn a lot :)

a lot happened, professionally and personally. did a ton of work, but i still enjoyed my time in the big pond. coming home for the holidays made me realize that there are finer things in life that i should be thankful for. life has been quite a roller coaster ride for me and have to say that it was one hell of a year.

i haven't made a new years resolution for the longest time and i'd still won't make a resolution list :) but i'd rather make a to do list for the upcoming year :) here it goes:

1. Do good with work, be the best in what i do and minimize the booboos :)
2. Improve on my hobby. hopefully, photos will get paid and will be able to get my gear wish list.
3. Keeping TRUE friends. SO CALLED friends should be thrown in the trash and they should be left there to rot :) (di ba friend? hehehehe)
4. ENJOY LIFE TO THE FULLEST. Best thing to do for the upcoming year.

Here's to a better 2009 for everybody :)

I know this took me the longest time to post, but as they always say, better late than never :)

I was fortunate enough to be invited by Maestro Rhon and Jojie to join them for a short road trip to Batangas. The whole trip wasn't planned, this was during the eraserheads reunion concert (we also had backstage passes for the concert). Though I would have loved to see the Eheads play live together again, this trip was something to look forward to. Needed to go out of Manila for a bit and enjoy life's little pleasures. So off we went, along with Otep. We rode the bus from cubao and went to our adventure.

Dos Palmas in Verde Island it was. Great facilities, great service. The place was Heaven :) the resort was being developed by the Lim family of the NCCC mall business based in Davao City. we were pampered to the max, juice and coffee by the beach while shooting, what more can you ask for?

I took less than 60 frames during this trip (which is unusual for me :)), but i was quite happy with the output. i was there to relax and enjoy the trip. so no pressure for me to shoot :) i was there to enjoy my own sweet time and just CHILL :)

here's to more unplanned roadtrips, they're the best :) Merry Christmas everyone, here's to wishes coming true and a bountiful 2009 for everyone :)

May 7th, 1977. birthday of one of the best people i got to know in my lifetime. basketball buddy, barkada and friend.

ever since that fateful day, your company was and will always be missed bai. have to admit it was hard to accept that you went to a happy place already. it was just like yesterday that we celebrated your birthday in talikud with the boys and everybody was soaking wet and piss drunk on the way home. good memories bai, good memories indeed.

here's a bottle of fundador and lechon cuts for pulutan Jake. Happy Birthday bai! we do miss your company, but we know you're in a better place now.
